Craft Studio Karakusa is Natsumi Iino's studio for ceramic, Jewelry, and sundry goods. The term "karakusa" refers to the various designs of swirly and intertwined plants and trees. The karakusa design reached Japan by the oriental Silk Road. Used in Romanesque churches, arabesque ornaments, and tenples in Nara(Japan), the Karakusa design is keyword that represents the historical richness of craft and arnamental arts. Because the karakusa design is a continuous pattern it also symbolizes "eternity".
